In the Damage sheet, there's Character!I7 mentioned both for casts per second as well as mana per cycle. But that field is empty. I understand it's probably supposed to reference SW:P, but it looks like it's not. Even though SW:P is accounted for when the number of cycles is calculated, it doesn't seem to be accounting for its mana cost.
@Exxeh Hey bud, luv the video. I really value your opinion. I was wondering if you would give my guide a look over and tell me what you think: https://forum.classicwow.live/topic/1087/shadow-priest-pve-guide-talent-gear-rotation-etc I showed it to other spriests and they didn't have anything to add but I wanted to also get your input.
Man dude, you really did quite the number on this one! It's great to see the Arcane Priest taken to the limit, and I can't wait to see how much of this I can pull off myself someday. And thanks much for the shoutout!
You are already answering your own question a bit. Pre 60 Shadow is something you can always enjoy and still heal dungeons.
In Raids, you have a chance of being the only shadow priest, but even then keep in mind that shadow priest are only ever gonna be REALY sought after around Naxx.
That said, know that there will be much more people/Guilds that want to have a Shadow Priest then back in 2004/5/6 because we know so much more then than.
Also know that in the beginning when guilds are being formed and guild are struggling to get a good team to effectively have a good part of the raids on farm. Healers and (main)tanks are much more sought after. You really should ask yourself the question what would I do if I was this guilds leader?
At the end all is possible, but a bit of luck and some perseverance is probably needed. Also keep in mind that Shadow has always rocked big time in PVP, if time is not on your side consider becoming a BG God and join starting Premades. You will def be lvl 10/11 with ease and every starting/mid lvl Premade wants a good shadowpriest.
@Saucy Hey man!! thanks for posting about Guiding Stave of Wisdom, i totally forgot it got updated in 1.10, but i would still go with The Hammer of Grace, with Thaurissan's Royal Scepter. They both have a total of 53 +healing, but you get 10 spirit 5 stam, 5int compared to 11stam 10spirit. I think the mace and offhand come out a bit better, but the staff is a great alternative! Thanks!
this says everything about being aware of other people in the game, so easy to do and so much appreciated.
I tested a retail game macro for mouse over casting fortitude on other players while in the stress test. This didn't seem to work on private servers, so I'm assuming macro scripts changed quite a bit
@The-Cartesian While leveling, you will have very little bonus healing or none at all. The way the game is designed, HpME or Heal per Mana Efficiency increases with spell rank. In other words, your most recently trained spell rank will be the most efficient. However, the higher the rank, the higher the mana cost of the spell. That being said, It would be prudent to know how much each rank heals your tank for and wait until he loses that much or so HP before casting it. In this way, you will be the most mana efficient. I know this seems counter-intuitive and may even scare your tank but he/she will get used to it during the Dungeon. Now, with large increases in spell power, the HpME relationships can drastically change as the percent difference spell power provides is much larger the lower the rank of the heal. But that is another topic for another day.
It seems like you are focusing on leveling in your question. In that case, try to use the highest rank unless you need to use a faster heal for an emergency situation. For the vast majority of heals, the slower it is, the more mana efficient it is. So, always use slow heals unless you need to quickly top someone off. I realize your question was aimed at Priests but this goes for all healers and almost all heals.
