Avoiding streamers

This site is awesome, but still leaves me with a big question.

Are the streamers going PVE or PVP? I'm hoping most of them will be playing on PVP servers & then I will be safe on a PVE one. Any thoughts?

I'm sure many of them will go PVP for mains and PVE for offline stuff. I don't think it will affect your game experience either way.

Could not disagree more. I am planning on avoiding streamer servers like the plague. Between faction imbalance and the inability to use chat channels, not to mention queues, I do no want that headache.

Plus I've heard stories about people who kill a streamer or just say something to them they didn't like & getting grieved mercilessly from their fanboys.

Yea I guess I should clarify, it is not streamers I have a problem with, it is their viewers. Streamers are not responsible for their communities, and even when they tell people to stop or even go so far as to ban people for "getting revenge" against someone they perceived insulted their favorite streamer, that one fan will never stop.

I had never heard of asmongold until classic beta. What about people who don't even know what twitch is and have no idea why they are being harassed non stop just for killing someone that means nothing to them.

What they said! Crazy fanboys are the thing that will kill peoples enthusiasm to play the game near the big boys of streaming, nobody wants the grief of that because lets face it Vanilla had the joy of dickheads getting blacklisted but if you're stung for not being in the fanboy club, why bother?

I'd like to play with a few of these cats, as they helped raise awareness to bringing Classic back either through their actions or creation of guides. However, that said, I don't want to play anywhere near the people with thousands of followers who are just going to ride coattails and get in the way of others experiences levelling because "Dis my boi!".

My guess is people will just leave that big streamers to it on their Megatropolis server, then the rest get filled out by the private server guilds, low-mid population streamers and the stragglers. Both will likely have advantages and disadvantages but this is just one mans opinion, so take it with the pinch of salt it deserves.

I would think that the type of person who is playing just to fan out for a streamer would not still be playing in a few months. They'll burn out quickly I think. I guess the best option for you would be to roll on any low-pop PVE server. There are not many classic streamers who are going PVE for their main, and the low pop may indicate that the swarm of teenagers on twitch probably have no reason to be on that server, IE no streamers. The servers with multiple streamers will be obvious because of the high pops.

I'm sure most of the streamers will announce what server they are on within days of the name reservations next week. Just make a list of those servers and avoid them.

Role Playing servers are a safe option I think. Vanilla had super strict rules about what you could say to other players and viewers who want to grief you over you killing their tribal leader would likely be banned or moved to another server.

In which case 1/2 the server community disappears overnight which is IMO worse. And just think if the streamer themselves quits, there wont be enough people left to pug UBRS let alone a raid.

That is why layering is a good thing.

WHELP! This thread just became irrelevant ...

(Blizzard released the realm lists and there are only 11 total NA non-OC realms between all categories.)

Yeah, what with 2 English PvP servers for the whole of Europe, there goes the avoiding anyone plan 😂

It is, however, looking like Shazzrah is the server of choice for EU PvP with a 50-50 pop balance on Barrens Chat's poll. It is also the defacto server choice for Italy/Spain/Poland, so could be a very busy place.

Tips said in a video that Himelf, Esfand, StaySafe, Sodapoppin & Asmon are all going to play on a PVP server. Good news for anyone wanting to play on PVE, like myself.

There are so little servers on launch and so much streamers. ALL of the servers will have streamers, nothing you can do about that. Grieving fanboys are easily reported and most streamers can accept that with great power comes great responsibility and teach there fans to not be a dick just a sucker of it. (my bad, I am a comedian)
